About the Project
Sportster is a Sports Booking Management Application designed to make booking of sports venues, managing schedules, and organizing activities easier for both individual users (B2C) and venue managers (B2B). The App offers a seamless platform for Athletes, Coaches, and Players to discover, book, and manage sports venues. With real-time availability, secure payments, and user reviews, it simplifies scheduling and fosters a vibrant sports community.
My Role
As the Lead Designer, I spearheaded the planning and execution of the Sportster Application project, working alongside junior UX and UI designers. I collaborated extensively with product and business teams while guiding the design team to develop a flexible, modern design system and deliver over 50 unique screens.
Problem Statement
Booking sports venues was a complicated and fragmented process. Finding available facilities at convenient times can be frustrating for users, compounded by unclear pricing, limited facility details, and the absence of user reviews, which hinder informed decision-making. Additionally, managing bookings, including cancellations and rescheduling, often proves cumbersome.
Opportunities
The application effectively addresses the challenges faced by athletes, sports teams, and enthusiasts, by providing a comprehensive solution. With a user-friendly interface and robust features, users can easily search and book sports facilities for practice sessions, games, or events. Real-time availability, secure payments, and user reviews ensure a smooth booking experience.
For venue managers, the platform streamlines booking management, enhancing efficiency. By promoting accessibility, convenience, and community engagement, the application empowers users to fully embrace their passion for sports.
Research & Discovery
- User Interviews: Conducted interviews with sports enthusiasts, amateur players, and fitness groups to understand their needs when booking sports venues.
- Competitive Analysis: Analyzed existing sports booking apps such as Playo, Khelomore, Fitternity etc to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- User Journey Mapping: Mapped out the end-to-end user journey from discovering a venue to completing a booking, identifying key pain points and opportunities for enhancement.
